About Olearna

Olearna exists because no parent should have to wait until results day to find out their child was not ready. We give Ghanaian families the clarity they need, weeks and months before BECE or WASSCE, so that preparation can be focused, specific, and effective.

The Problem We Solve

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Ghanaian students sit for BECE and WASSCE. Their parents invest in extra classes, past questions, and revision materials. But very few parents can honestly answer one question: is my child actually ready?

Schools provide term reports, but these rarely give a clear signal on exam readiness. Class positions tell you how a student compares to peers, not whether they will pass. By the time most parents realise their child has serious gaps in Mathematics or English, the exam is already weeks away.

What Olearna Does

Olearna is an exam readiness platform. We use a proprietary scoring engine that goes far beyond simple right-or-wrong marking. When a student completes a practice session on Olearna, the engine analyses their response patterns, identifies the specific topics and sub-topics where they are weakest, and produces a clear readiness signal.

Parents receive a single, plain-language label that tells them where their child stands: on track, improving, or at risk. Below that label, they see the three most important areas their child needs to work on. This report updates every week, giving families an ongoing picture of progress rather than a single snapshot.

For students, Olearna generates targeted practice sessions. Instead of working through random past questions, each session focuses on the specific gaps the scoring engine has identified. This means study time is spent on what actually moves the needle.

Why We Built This for Ghana

Ghana has a strong education culture. Parents take their children's academic performance seriously. Teachers work hard, often with limited resources. But the tools available for exam preparation have not kept pace with what families actually need.

Most study platforms are built for international markets and adapted loosely for West Africa. They do not understand the BECE or WASSCE syllabus at the topic level.
