How to Use Past Questions Without Wasting the Evening
6 min read
Past questions are the most common advice in Ghana, and the most common way to feel busy without improving. The paper is not the problem. The way it is used is.
A way that moves the mark
- Know the topic you are training. If you do not know, take a check first. A full paper is a poor way to discover you cannot do fractions.
- Do a set on that topic, with a time you could keep in the exam.
- Review the same day. Your choice, the right answer, the step you skipped.
- Bring the missed ones back later in the week. A new paper every night never meets the same mistake twice, so the mistake stays.
What to skip
Marking only the score and closing the book. Copying solutions you do not understand into a notebook. Mixing JHS and SHS papers because a download had both. BECE-style practice belongs on the BECE past questions guide. WASSCE-style practice belongs on the WASSCE guide.
