Resit Plan for English, Mathematics, and Science
If you only rewrite one thing after the 2026 results, make it the core paper a school or a university will actually refuse. For BECE that is usually English or Mathematics. For WASSCE it is usually Core Mathematics, English Language, or Integrated Science. Electives matter for a named programme. They are not a substitute for a failed core.
Diagnose the one subject first
Mathematics
List the topics you left blank, not the topics you dislike. Algebra, graphs, mensuration, and statistics show up because the method is markable. On Olearna, start at BECE Mathematics or Core Mathematics. Formula drill is for formulae. It is not a dump of every maths question in the bank, and it stays on your level: JHS formulae do not get replaced by SHS ones.
English
Split the paper. Objective grammar is a different practice from the essay. If the essay is the loss, writing one timed piece a week beats highlighting a grammar pamphlet. BECE English lives at English Language. WASSCE English is the SHS course, not the JHS one.
Science
BECE Science and WASSCE Integrated Science are not the same syllabus wearing a different cover. Do not revise SHS ecology if the grade you must replace is JHS. Use Science or Integrated Science to match the exam you will sit.
A four-month shape
- Week 1: diagnostic. Write down At Risk topics only.
- Weeks 2 to 8: those topics, in short sessions. Recheck. If the label is still At Risk, you have not changed the work, only the intention.
- Weeks 9 to 14: timed papers. Mark them. Anything you missed goes back to the topic list.
- Registration week: WAEC's form, your index number, their fee. Then keep the same topics until the paper, instead of discovering a new syllabus.
Improving is allowed to be the label for a while. It means the gap is still open. On Track is when that subject can stop taking every evening.
