A Parent's Guide After BECE or WASSCE Results
The result is already printed. The useful parental move is not a speech about wasted school fees. It is a short list: is this the official result, is a school place still open, and which single subject is actually blocking the next step.

Tonight
- Look at the result together, on WAEC's site or the school's list. Not a screenshot from a group chat.
- If BECE placement is the issue, use CSSPS and the ministry lines in the self-placement note. Do not pay a placement agent.
- If WASSCE is the issue, assume the September private exam is already closed. Plan for the next series using the resit guide.
- If the result says withheld, open that guide before anyone calls a pastor, a lawyer, or a hacker.
This week
Ask which subject they will resit or repair. One is enough to start. Then sit with them for the free diagnostic. It does not need your credit card. It returns On Track, Improving, or At Risk. Those words are dull on purpose. They are the same words on your screen later, so you are not translating a percentage your child does not believe.
Olearna is built for that handoff. The student practises. You see the label move. We will not tell you a neighbour's child jumped from F9 to A1 in a month, because we do not have that story as a measured fact. What we can show is the subject that still needs the hour.
What to stop buying
Another full set of pamphlets, a "special centre", and a night class in every subject at once. Extra teaching helps when it is aimed at the gap. It wastes the child when it repeats what they already know. The diagnostic is how you tell those apart.
