How to review a wrong WASSCE English Language answer

14 October 20266 min read

This page is for a WASSCE student in Ghana, and for the parent sitting nearby. It answers one job: how to use a wrong answer in English Language. The next step is a free check of this subject, then an account if you want the result kept.

WASSCE English splits the evening. Summary is not the essay, and lexis is not oral English. A student who only writes compositions leaves the other papers untested.

What should you open in English Language?

Stay inside these topics. They are the ones listed for WASSCE English Language on the subject page. A different book's chapter titles can wait.

  • Comprehension. Comprehension is one block of the paper. Summary is a different block. Do not revise them in the same half hour.
  • Summary. Summary is one block of the paper. Essay Writing is a different block. Do not revise them in the same half hour.
  • Essay Writing. Essay Writing is one block of the paper. Lexis & Structure is a different block. Do not revise them in the same half hour.
  • Lexis & Structure. Lexis & Structure is one block of the paper. Oral English is a different block. Do not revise them in the same half hour.
  • Oral English. Oral English is one block of the paper. Comprehension is a different block. Do not revise them in the same half hour.

What does a short week look like?

  • Evening 1: Comprehension. Twenty to thirty minutes, then stop.
  • Evening 2: Summary. Twenty to thirty minutes, then stop.
  • Evening 3: Essay Writing. Twenty to thirty minutes, then stop.
  • Evening 4: Lexis & Structure. Twenty to thirty minutes, then stop.
  • Evening 5: Oral English. Twenty to thirty minutes, then stop.

After one of those evenings, take the free English Language diagnostic. You will see On Track, Improving, or At Risk. That label is for you. It is not a WASSCE grade.

Where do you go next?

The subject page is English Language for WASSCE. If you want the class and the subjects saved, create a free account. You can read this page first. The account is one screen: name, email or phone, and a password.
